In Japan, fun doesn’t end beyond the skyscrapers of the Tokyo metropolitan. Although the city is over flowing with entertaining and fascinating activities, there’s always something that could be much better outside the box. Just across the famous Rainbow Bridge, we traveled crossing the harbor area from the central Tokyo to the world renown man- made island Odaiba! Even though the island wasn’t initially built for entertainment and recreational purposes, it did turn out to be one of the most visited man- made island all throughout the country.
So here I was, looking out from the window of our hotel in Grand Nikko Daiba after spending a goodnight sleep. May I just say that the early morning view of the busy city (not to mention my cup of coffee) was the most beautiful good- morning- greeting I received that day!
We started our day quite a bit early since we have a full list of places to go to. Before it gets crowded, we decided to go for a morning walk passing Fuji TV, the Seaside Park and the Decks Tokyo Beach where we had a sumptuous breakfast. Note that all these attractions are literally beside our hotel. So I highly advice you to stay in one of the hotels around Tokyo Bay to not only witness the breath taking view, but also to have an easy access to all the highlights of Odaiba.
Okay so don’t be confused as to where I am now. I am still in Tokyo. lol. The Statue of Liberty you are seeing is Japan’s replica brought along time ago to commemorate the so called ”French year of Japan”. Though I haven’t seen the iconic Statue of Liberty in New York. It still gives me a nice feeling to know that I finally witnessed the woman in torch.
Now this one is no replica of Transformers. It’s the country’s most famous robot anime called Gundam. Whether you have heard of this anime or not, this full colored and well detailed statue is perhaps Odaiba’s highlight landmark. This big guy over here sure stood out above the rest and I really think I don’t have to explain why. Behind is the Diver City Tokyo Plaza which is an entertainment complex along side with Gundam’s Cafe. Yes, another theme cafe you guys!
I have watched this anime since childhood and staring at it tall and proud is like a call from the universe! Anyway, be sure to come here early to have all the time (and space) for yourself. After marveling the intricate structure of this strong looking fella, we went ahead to more other attractions because this place seems to never ran out of any!
Again, If you guys want to see my VLOG here in Odaiba, you can check it out on my previous blog/vlog article: HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR JAPAN EXPERIENCE 🙂
