“Diamonds are girl’s best friend” I pretty much have heard and known this for as long as I could remember. Truth or just a plain exaggeration, let’s face it, it’s quite undeniable that girls (or should I say we) do love some shimmer and sparkle one way or another.

Just beside the beautiful Kawaguchiko Lake of Mt. Fuji is a small yet sophisticated house of gem collection called the Yamanashi Gem Museum. So, why not spoil the woman of your life or even yourselves independent women out there to some splurging? – Not only a beautiful pair of diamond studs but rather an extravagant array of authentic gems? But don’t worry, we can also always stick to window shopping 🙂 .

This place though not as wide as how you imagine museums would be; it’s certainly enough to fit an expensive number of nature’s astounding mineral and natural gems including the very much well known birth stones.

Coming inside the exhibition area feels like a luxury. Every single stones are proudly cased and sealed. Beside it are sample jewelries that even though were not price tagged, looked definitely cost a fortune.

Since it’s a museum, you will be highly informed by all the stone’s natural origin and all the tedious process it takes to become a one fine piece. Right outside the exhibition room is of course a common area for souvenir shopping (although it might not be your regular souvenir corner).

Some items (or jewelries) could cost for no less than half to a million dollars! Though not everyone can afford the bits of glamour one can achieve by wearing these gems, this place would somehow make you think that the most expensive things in the world are rather found from stones and dust.
