If I could tell you one fun fact about Japan, it is indeed a place where there is no such thing as too much cuteness. It is also almost ninety percent of the reason why foreigners fly and visit to this country. The wide eyes anime, the amusing theme cafes and the irresistible stationery and merchandise that even you have no idea where to use it for, would still end up to your shopping cart –and the most unmistakable reason? – Because it’s cute!

Since we are now in the topic of cuteness (which by the way means Kawaii in Japanese) shall I take you to the cutest place in the world?

Located in Tama New Town, Tokyo Japan, for 25 years, Sanrio Puroland has been the home of all the cute and famous characters we loved growing up. To name a few, it’s where you can find the House of Lady Kitty (Hello Kitty), My Melody, The Twin Stars, Keropi and a much recent one, Gudetama.

Sanrio Puroland is a three-floor amusement park that is big enough to occupy two mini-coaster rides, arcades, a live theater, restaurants and shops and a separate house dedicated for each character.

It’s like coming inside to an entirely different world! From the ceiling to the ground, everything is rainbow- colored completed with an ambiance of happy music and children’s giggles.

If you are lucky, you can watch their seasonal live performances as well. They also have daily parade that goes around the theme park’s hallway area.

To complete the Sanrio experience, we entered the Lady Kitty House which is said to be Hello Kitty’s very own mansion.

We also visited the Twin Stars Cloud Palace that is surrounded with cloud-like walls.

My most favorite part (which maybe because it’s also my personal favorite character) is the Gudetama Airport. If you are not so familiar with Gudetama, it is basically an egg yolk with a sad looking face almost the entire time.

Unfortunately this time, we weren’t able to try any of their themed restaurants since we couldn’t stay long. However, I most certainly would not miss a souvenir and got this huge Gudetama stuff toy which like I said, I’m a huge fan off!

Just like any other theme parks, it’s certainly a place where you can relive your childhood over and over again…. So what’s your favorite character?
