Growing up, I can most certainly say how my father greatly influenced my likes and interests. Since I’m the eldest, I’ve got quite more chances to spend my leisure time with him (way before my younger siblings were born). Given how a super hero fanatic he is, I too had it grown in me. Before I knew it, I practically never missed any super hero shows and movies out there. I know there’s that “choice” between which side you’re in: Marvel or the DC super heroes? Although I’m more on the neutral side (since I enjoyed both of them) this time, let’s talk about the world of Marvel.
Found on the 54th floor of Tokyo City View, in Mori Arts Center at the state of the art Roponggi Hills District is the first ever Marvel Exhibition in Japan called “Age of Heroes”. It lasted from April 7th until June 25th of this year. Of course, knowing that it is a pioneer, Marvel fans flocked all the way to see the display.
At first, you would think that it’s only but a one room space where they hang photos and paraphernalia –but no. To our amusement, it was everything a Marvel enthusiast could dream of. The exhibit is divided into various parts and time table: The history of Marvel, the Marvel artworks, The Heroes and the Villains, the costumes and behind the scenes and the cinematic universe.
My most favorite part was perhaps seeing all the real costumes that all the live Marvel movie actors wore including their iconic weapons. As much as I would like to share it to you guys, they do not allow filming and taking pictures of it. Nonetheless, there were as much places for photo opportunities so you’d still get that marvelous moments I’m sure we all want to capture.
And who wants to go home without a souvenir? The souvenir area was as overwhelming as the exhibit itself; from cute figurines to exclusive and limited edition items that cost an arm and a leg. But would you believe most of them were sold out? I guess the hype is real!
Well you see, I’m a huge Iron Man fan. If only I could take home one of those shiny Iron Man Statues, I’ll probably be the happiest person in the world. Anyway, how about you? Who’s your favorite super hero of all time?
Ugh I miss Japan every single day. Your pictures are gorgeous! 😀 xx
