As summer giving out its full beam, we are all left with long days to spend and nights so short that I feel like every night just passed by a wink. Now as I am coping up with relentless sweat, I too enjoy the longer days in my maxi dresses and straw hats. It’s a summer combo no doubt. Since I am dressed for the occasion, I met as well take you with me!
Sunflower Flowers bloom along with the peak of the summer. I think these flowers just fall in with the season so perfectly! The flower’s long and bright petals bunched together like a sunshine. Whenever I see a sunflower, it makes me think of warm happy days – and seeing an entire field of it? Now that makes me definitely like in cloud nine!
There are so many famous sunflower fields in Japan. Some fields have even more than 60 thousand grown sunflowers! Just like the cherry blossoms in spring, this is something you should never miss when you’re here.
I guess I don’t have to search far and wide because the city of Numazu in Shizuoka Prefecture (a 30 minute drive away from my home) has it’s very own proud sunflower field.
The field is located outside the bustling urban life of the city instead, in a lesser known area which I think made the flowers stand out on its own. The place that is called Ukishima (west part of Numazu) is home for 15 thousand sunflowers.
For all this time that I’ve been into this city, I had never realized there are still parts of it that are yet to be discovered and I hope this could only be just the beginning of something far greater.
