I have only been to Niigata for a good couple of days and it was one of those moments when you just immediately fell in love with the city. For sure there are more greater things and places that I haven’t seen yet but this trip has made my decision to come back a definite check in my to do list!

Today, we purchased a one-day round trip bus ticket going to all the notable sightseeing spots of the city. It’s surprisingly easy that even foreigners can avail it with no trouble. Just visit their Tourist Information Center found right at the station and they will gladly assist you.

Our destination was the city’s biggest indoor aquarium, the Niigata Sea Aquarium. This reminded me of the one I visited in Fukuoka two years ago. I actually wrote about it in my blog story: A Marine World Experience (please do check it out as well) 🙂 .

Going to this kind of places will always make you feel like its the first time so I’m still pretty excited about it. By the end of the day, I pretty much flooded my camera with photos of every marine animal I spotted. lol

For the last night of my stay, we thought of doing something to make this the highlight. So, we went to catch the sunset at Niigata’s historic Bandai Bridge.

This place I must say, is the perfect place to conclude my entire trip. By the river are long lines of stalls and booths that offer drinks and amazing food. There are also groups of families and friends gathered in open tents and tables for a barbecue or just a long good conversation.

It only gets beautiful by night fall. The river reflected the city lights while everyone from different walks of life shared a restful atmosphere. This place is highly recommended in the summer season when the nights are typically warmer.

I now officially conclude my holiday with a cheers! I know that we all spent our summer differently but we still all wished the same; to do something we love! Whether it’s a trip out of town, a family gathering, or just a slow cozy days at home I hope that we can tell ourselves that it’s one of this year’s best!
